Product Description The absorber® was designed over 30 years ago to dry cars and trucks. It is the ORIGINAL PVA shammy. The super absorbent power of the absorber® not only dries your car quickly, but leaves a streak free finish behind. Once the absorber® is saturated with water simply wring it out and continue drying your vehicle. For the hood of your car we recommend that you lay the absorber flat on the surface and pull it across the hood, trunk, or car top. Let the absorber do the work for you as it sucks up the water as you move across the surface of your vehicle. You can fold the absorber to dry the side panels of your vehicle. The absorber can be used to dry the nooks and crannies of your vehicle. This is a distinct advantage over blade type and other drying devices.
The absorber® is reinforced with a mesh scrim for added durability and strength, but has NO surface fibers which makes it safe for all paint finishes. It also will not remove wax from your vehicle as you dry it. It is resistant to most chemicals. It is unharmed by grease and oils. Best of all the absorber® is machine washable and will last for years.

Very Effective December 19, 2009 Ron R. Glaeseman (San Pedro, CA United States) If you use this product correctly, it can't be beat. Unroll it. and throw it out flat over the car's flat surfaces such as hood, roof, and trunk. It pulls the water right off. Much more effective than a $25 chamois which I used for years. The Absorber will not do windows, however. For that you will need the $25 chamois.
Fantastic November 9, 2009 J. Wilen (Washington, DC, USA) This might sound bizarre, but I decided to buy this after taking my dog to a groomer and seeing that they used one to dry the dogs. I used to go through at least 2-3 towels each time I gave the little guy a bath, but this thing dries his fur effectively and efficiently, and still gently. I'm amazed.
great addition to your car's toolbox, especially convertibles November 6, 2009 Careful Driver (Seatle, WA USA) For a convertible in the pacific northwest, this is almost a must have. I'd rather not leave the softtop wet after pulling into the garage. My Audi A4's softtop is not exactly small, so it takes at least 2 big towels to dry the top. This product not only makes it easy and quick, it's very easy to clean too. I need something that absorbs fast without any rubbing that wears the softtop protectant faster. Plus it works for drying the car in a self car wash.
Pros:
-Works better than a chamois in absorbing water.
-Does not produce streaks when drying autos. Spotfree!
-Cheaper than chamois
Cons:
-You have to store it moist in the canister or it will dry stiff as a cardboard. (Dip it on water and it is good to go again).
Not so impressed September 30, 2009 Nick's (Petaluma, CA - North Bay) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used this on my car the other day for the first time with excitement. I ended the clean with less enthusasism:(
I bought two with the hopes of using one in the house and one on the car. Will try two for the car on wash number two. Maybe that will make the job easier.
Also takes a few swipes to pick up the water. Need at least a second try. I detailed the clean with a nice towel "Meguiar's X2020 Supreme Shine Microfiber - Pack of 3" I bought two of these and should have just bought four sets in hindsight. They work as advertised and am impressed with the results. Easy to use and no streaks.
These special type of absorbents all give me difficulty and have yet to find the trick or the magic chamois or absorber. This was definately not it!
Junk September 26, 2009 Mean Ween (Chicago, IL) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had used this to dry my car - basically all it did was make big water beads into smaller ones...**wring out**...make the smaller beads into even smaller beads...**wring out**...make the even smaller beads into streaks... I hope you get the point. It basically just pushes water around. I'm going to try the Meguiar system to dry cars. I guess the only redeeming quality of this product is that it dries to a wavy sheet of synthetic material, which is kind of cool to look at...
