Great jack for the money August 31, 2010 David Stillwell (WILSONVILLE, OR, US) This was shipped for free so I waited 5 days. No problem for me, since I plan everything in advance. The jack is very light and has a perfect length handle. It rolls in and out of the work area very easily. I like the way it looks very professional. You will need to read the instructions very carefully to blead the air out which takes about 10 minutes. Make sure you pinch the screw bleed bolt. What that means is only open the bleed valve enough until you hear air bleeding out then quickly tighten the screw back. You will need to do this about 8 times with jack in the fully raised position. That should do the trick. After that the jack works great!
Purchase of Torin 1.5 Ton jack July 1, 2010 Michael Kliment
I purchase this jack because I needed low clearance. This jack is great! Quality exceeded my expection and it is very easy to control the lift and lowering. The sale was very effient and the jack arrived on time.
Very Nice product, highly recommend it.
Great Jack. Very light. Very well made. June 27, 2010 Zombie (Sunnyvale, CA) If you never have to carry your jack anywhere and only roll it from one place in your garage to another, you probably won't appreciate the light weight. But if you ever have to carry a jack someplace, this is really the jack to own.
The same jack at the local Kragen's cost about $30.00 more.
I didn't have to bleed any air from mine but if I did, the instructions have been updated a little and they seem easy enough to follow.
I use mine just to lift one corner of my BMW 740iL at a time. It works great. It releases fairly smooth and doesn't just drop the car all of a sudden. Best of all, it's easy to carry.
Worked without me referring to the instructions May 17, 2010 Justin (Washington, DC) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I agree that the instructions are very poor. However, I was able to figure out how to bleed the hydraulic system pretty easily and the jack worked fine after I bled the air from the system (took ~10 minutes). We'll see about longevity but for the price and how it's working for me right now I certainly recommend this jack. Also, this jack fits comfortably under my sport-package BMW 335i, which most jacks don't from what I've read.
Also, with this or any jack, ALWAYS use jack stands if you're under the car. The jack failing shouldn't ever put you at risk, so if you're doing anything that requires the car to be in the air for more than a few minutes or if your safety would be affected by the car dropping, use jack stands!
Looks nice. Ends there April 28, 2010 Rubber Ducky (Southern California) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had this Jack for 7 months, used sparingly. For those 7 months I was happy with it. Good sturdy construction with thoughtful grip-areas. It did its job well.
However, after 7 months I saw a puddle of oil seeping out from under the jack. It was unusable after that. Turns out it is a fairly common issue with this model as some other sites with reviews show people with the same kind of issues.
I have not found a suitable replacement (that is as easy to use in this price point) but it sucks that a 100 dollar jack would only last 7 months. I have (and relatives as well) 25 dollar autozone specials that come with jackstands that are still going strong after 2-3 years.
If you have this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ALWAYS use jackstands with this. I don't trust it with my car and I certainly don't trust it with my life.
